No one loves President Trump more than FCC Chairman Brendan Carr

Agencies are only supposed to be 'independent' when Republicans don't control them, and any action that Republicans don't agree with constitutes gross overreach and/or is unconstitutional. That's been the whole Republican SOP for almost a century now. Because as far as Republicans are concerned, the only 'real' Democracy is the Republican Democracy. You'll get what they give you, and you'd better like it or else (they'll deport you, etc).

This kind of stuff is the antithesis of the holiday cheer I’d like to feel. It leads me to wishing they all develop the worst kinds of cancer instead of trying to be a better person. Over and over they’ve shown being a better person just gives them leeway to be the most shitty persons they can be. “Rules for thee not for me” is the most hypocrite thing you can do and I want all of them brought up on treason charges.

If GOP wins in 2026, our 2028 presidential election will be on precarious grounds (expect wholesale cheating/undermining of our electoral system). And after this, when GOP wins in 2028, our democracy and our rule of law - or what's left of them - will truly be doomed!!

Just picture the massive increases of "yes" men and women from federal department heads trickling down to all levels of government / bureaucracies - and a parallel all through our military - plus likely a near-complete repopulating of our entire judicial system too... I see no way for our democracy and rule of law to survive.

2026 is do or die. If Dems lose 2026, it will embolden the GOP to stack 2028 even more to their favor - cross that point - there won't be a 2032 election - not anything we could recognize as 'free and fair' anyway.

Brendan Carr is not a dummy, as Nilay at The Verge would describe him.

He is a Toady Fascist Asshole who knows exactly what he is doing.

And there is only one correct course of action to take against Fascists. We should not need Captain America to remind us how to treat these cretins.

But there's nothing Brendan Carr loves more than burgling and eating cat turds. Based on a considered review of his history, the list is as follows, in the order they are important to him.

Things Brendan Carr loves:
1. Being wrong.
2. Being a fascist piece of shit.
3. Burgling cat turds.
4. The head of the current administration.

But Brendan Carr is feeling extra cheer this year! Now that Marjorie Taylor Greene is no longer licking Trump's ass, Brendan get's twice the time to lick it! And he's delighted! Mmm mmm good, isn't it, Brendan! better than homemade eggnog.

It's a sad day when someone like Ashit Pail (Ajit Pai) almost seems to have been a better FCC chairman than Carr. Almost...
There’s no almost, Pai is massive asshole but he was definitely better than Carr, which just tells you how low a bar Carr sets

"No one loves Donald Trump more..." than the talentless simps who,

1) were nobodies before Donald Trump and
2) will be nobodies on the payroll of industry lobby groups and working for the next Republican trying to copy the current playbook after Donald Trump.
Fixed that for you, because gods forbid there be consequences for their actions

I remember back when it was obvious that corporate shill bots were ballot stuffing the FCC public comments for Net Neutrality, committing criminal mass identity theft and even making public comments on behalf of dead people. I was so mad at Ajit Pai for allowing telecomms to openly break the law in order to abuse citizens. Carr just takes it all to a new level.

"Both sides" my ass. One political party is hell bent on making you a serf to corporate fiefdoms, the other party has a healthcare plan.

The US might as well just drop the pretence and start exporting bananas.
I'd like to point out that a proper banana republic needs entrepreneurs from foreign countries to organise the growing, collection and export of bananas, and a corrupt government willing to take kickbacks to facilitate such exports.
The Trump government can't even facilitate exports.

Brendan Carr is perhaps the most odious type of fascist maggot: a submissive to his Big Daddy who, after licking Big Daddy's boots perfect and shiny clean, gets his rocks off by implementing Big Daddy's will to dominate with maximum vigor. We all know the type from 20th century history. Quite possibly one of the worst psychological phenotypes the human race has to offer apart from violent psychopaths.

Speaking to that last one, I hope not for their sake because Donald Trump intends to not only draw the ladder up behind him, he intends to burn the house down under the roof the ladder went too lol.

Donald Trump doesn't share, Dec 2020 should have taught them that (speaking to when he knew he'd lost and did everything in his power to make sure Republicans lost the special election in Georgia, etc.)

Everyone always forgets that because it happened around the infamous Jan 6 insurrection, etc.

Way to go - make Pai look reasonable. Every time you think they've hit rock bottom, they pull out a shovel.
Thanks for this. The FCC missed the boat so much in the run up to 2016, the point where our descent into hell began to truly accelerate. But there should be no grace in not being the absolute worst...

Before he became chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr seemed to be a big believer in the agency’s role as an independent branch of the federal government. According to the pre-2025 version of Brendan Carr, the White House interfered with the agency’s independence when a Democratic president publicly urged the FCC to adopt net neutrality rules.
Broken record ... All of Trump's boot lickers .... i mean ass suckers constantly parrot the ever changing narrative when it suits them.

Why anyone is surprised that Carr is no different is boggling at best.

No. None of it make Ajit Pie look reasonable. He was as much of a sycophant as anyone in the current administration. Time and beer covered goggles might make Pie look as if he were more reasonable; the difference now is the 1st Trump Admin didn;t know wtf they could or could not get away with and Trump had folks telling him No. No one now is telling Trump No - including Congress and including SCOTUS. So he's just letting everyone do what ever the fuck they want to because he's probably told every single one of them if they're brought up on criminal charges he'll just pardon them.

Yes I spelled Ajit Pie's last name incorrectly because that's about as many brain cells as Ajit has - the amount of brain cells found in pie.

No they don't. I haven't once heard "Medicare for all" uttered and that is the ONLY healthcare plan that I'll accept.
This is a prime example of how Americans have been indoctrinated so hard for so long they can't even conceive of any form of healthcare paid for by any means other than a for-profit health insurance system.

"Medicare for all" is still the same old broken capitalist system that you "enjoy" now, only propped up by the government paying the insurance companies. It will not address the fundamental failings of the American health care system.

You need to look at how other countries do universal health care. You will never find a real solution if you cling to the old capitalist dogma.
